The human mind often gets distracted into unnecessary possessions and accessories to indulge the self esteem and make our ego feel bigger which becomes an additional unnecessary stress. Everyone wants something every single day of their lives, something that we don’t already have. To facilitate wanting something and not receiving it can appear daunting and can bring upon a pattern of disregarding the bigger picture to the significance of our existence. You already have something greater than anything you don’t have and should be grateful for everyday – you and you are alive!
Being alive is to feel and we feel through multiple senses and ways of experiencing through our human body.
You have EYES to see. You are reading this right now, you can read. Be grateful for having eyes to read and to be able to read, to be able to witness life through your own personal lense. Look around you right now and begin noticing other things you are grateful for.
You have EARS to hear. Listen around you right now, what can you hear? I can hear birds and cars passing by. You can listen to music you love and hear your loved ones voices.
Your hands to touch. How valuable our hands are to be able to feel things. Feel your skin right now, notice how it feels, appreciate your beautiful skin. Give your hands a little massage.
Your ability to taste. There are so many yummy drinks and foods you have already tried and can keep trying again and again.. And so many more new ones in the world to look forward to that you haven’t even tried yet.
Your nose to smell. There are so many beautiful smells in the world that can make you feel something special and even take you back to a place you once felt wonderful.
Your legs to walk. You can get yourself from one destination to another. You can dance, you can run, you can jump. Take yourself for a little walk to a place or a person that makes you happy.
Your body cells. Your body cells love you immensely and these tiny little cells are always fighting for you to live. Whenever you get sick with a cold or a flu remember that your body is trying to help you and is battling something that it is trying to rid.
How beautiful the human body is! Take a deep breathe in and out and give thanks to it.
Be thankful for your body and to be able to breathe and then be grateful for everything else you have. Gratitude is one of the strongest emotions as it leads to other wonderful feelings – love, happiness, joy and peace. Always hold gratitude in your heart and you will always feel blessed. Every morning and every night before bed take some time to appreciate what you are grateful for.
If we didn’t have what we already do we wouldn’t be able to experience what we have in the first place. Appreciate these precious advantages in which you already have and begin enjoying the simple pleasures in life in which you experience with them.
