Finding inner peace in nature

The beauty of the world awaits the wonder of our gaze”. The world is incomprehensibly beautiful, full of magic, unconditional love and power, if you be still you will feel it. It’s all throughout and within you.

I have always been in love with nature, during my time as a child I would spend significant amount of time being amused by it. As soon as the lunch bell would ring, I would run straight to the bull ants nest and without any fear at all, I would pick them up and let them crawl on my hands. I would talk to them and play with them, actually, a lot of my friends were these bull ants. I don’t remember them ever biting me, I was a familiar presence to them.

There were other experiences too where I would pass by light pink coloured roses and felt a magical peaceful familiarity with them where I would instantly feel safe, and as an adult I still have this connection with them. I still don’t understand why or how but it’s there.

Over the years I have definitely gained a significant amount of knowledge from nature. Sitting and being with nature has been known (and continues to do so for me) to heal your body mentally, physically, spiritually and energetically. It allows you to connect within yourself and who you truly are. It strips away all your beliefs and expectations about your life by being in that silence. If you watch the trees and the little birds passing by, you will see how present they are in whatever they’re doing. We can learn a huge amount from nature and the nature spirits, they will speak to your heart with distinctive lessons; more than any other people on the planet could ever teach you.

If you go outside now, you can begin to sit in silence and connect with the nature around you. Don’t try to force it, just be with it, listen to it, watch it and feel it. Notice all the lovely colours, objects, nature, life and its movement and notice how it all makes you feel. You can find so much beauty around you.

Can you hear any crickets?
Do you hear or see any birds around you?
Are there any ants passing by?
Can you see any stars in the night sky?

Find a place in nature that you feel peaceful in and visit it often. It can be in a park, beside a beach or next to a garden. I have a few of them, a beautiful wise tree I like to visit which blooms orange in Spring, I have a spot by the ocean where I sometimes sit or float with and sometimes I’ll spend 30 mins or so with the stars. The stars remind how tiny our inner worlds are in comparison of the entire infinite universe and that there is so much more that we don’t really know. This connection can happen anywhere, there have been times where I haven’t been in these particular spots and I have had birds or trees that would speak to me too.

Enjoy the silence and the moment of doing absolutely nothing at all.

Be in the moment and feel the life flowing around you and inside you.
